| APRA Announces the APRA List Serve
A new way to get connected to other park and recreation professionals The Arizona Parks and Recreation Association has created an electronic (e-mail) Mailing List or also called a List Serve. The APRA List Serve's purpose is to promote the communication and information between park and recreation professionals, commission and board members, student's, and director's.
The List Serve will connect everyone on the List by e-mail. It will allow you to send one e-mail message, which will be transmitted to everyone on the List Serve. For example: If you wanted to inquire about the source of a youth-at-risk grant source, you would send an e-mail to the List Serve and it would transmit it to everyone on the List Serve. Then individuals could respond to you personally or to the entire List with their answers or more questions on the subject. Think of it as an e-mail chat room. The more people we have signed up the more successful and beneficial the List Serve will be. It will eventually connect park and recreation professionals all over the state. There is no cost for this service. The List Serve is being hosted by Northern Arizona University, Geography, Planning and Recreation's, Park and Recreation Management Program. All you need to connect is an e-mail account.

To Subscribe To The List Serve
Send an email message
To: LISTSERV@LISTS.NAU.EDU
with a single line of text in the body of the message that says: SUBSCRIBE APRA-L Your-first-name Your-last-name
Example:
To: LISTSERV@LISTS.NAU.EDU
Subj: (leave this line blank)
with a single line of text in the body of the message that says: SUBSCRIBE APRA-L Jane Doe
LISTSERV will extract the email address from the From: line of your message and add that address to the subscriber list.
After subscribing yourself, you will receive a message from LISTSERV letting you know that your subscription was successfully processed, along with an overview of subscriber commands. All new subscribers to the list will receive this same email message.
To Send a Message to the List
To send a message to all the people currently subscribed to the list, just send your email message to APRA-L@LISTS.NAU.EDU. This is called "sending mail to the list", because you send mail to a single address and LISTSERV makes copies for all the people who have subscribed. This address (APRA-L@LISTS.NAU.EDU) is also called the "list address".
Unsubscribing From The List
If you wish to unsubscribe from this mailing list, please send email to: LISTSERV@LISTS.NAU.EDU
with a single line of text in the body of the message that says: SIGNOFF APRA-L or UNSUBSCRIBE APRA-L
Example:
To: LISTSERV@LISTS.NAU.EDU
Subj: UNSUBSCRIBE APRA-L
