2018 award winners

Each year, APRA recognizes, awards and publicly honors communities across the state of Arizona that demonstrate excellence in long-range planning, resource management and innovative approaches to deliver superb park and recreation services with fiscally sound business practices.

At the start of each calendar year, agencies are invited to submit applications for consideration within the 12 available categories. The deadline for submission is mid-March, finalists are announced at the end of April and the Grand Award recipients are announced and celebrated during the Awards Banquet at the APRA Annual Conference.

Each submission is reviewed and scored by a dedicated panel of park and recreation professionals who are chosen due to their considerable experience and knowledge in parks and recreation on both local and national levels.
