SPARKS provides an opportunity for industry professionals to connect, engage and mentor current students, volunteers, interns, and staff who already demonstrate a commitment to their future profession.
During the SPARK experience, students learn from seasoned professionals and explore opportunities in their field of interest as well as areas they may be less familiar with. Through discovery, they learn the art of networking, time/resource management and the challenges they may face with real-world application.
Several levels of mentorship are built into the program. Professionals are paired with college students, who are paired with high school students to interact, network and experience the day. Layering the mentorship opportunities provides learning for everyone engaged and leaves lasting impression on students in attendance.
Arizona cities/towns and businesses that support the field of Parks and Recreation are invited to attend the SPARK Networking Lunch to meet the up-and-coming talent, conduct interviews and find that next dynamic hire, in a more relaxed vs. traditional setting.
