The Young Professional
The Young Professional Network of NRPA is now distributing their first publication, The Young Professional. This quarterly publication is aimed at providing information specifically for young professionals and students in the parks, recreation, and leisure field. Articles may be opinion, research, or simply informational in nature. The Young Professional will be distributed digitally to all young professionals and students in NRPA’s Young Professional Network through NRPA Connect as well as through social media platforms. 

2017 APRA Young Professional Conference Committee Chair 
Are you interested in working directly with parks and recreation professionals, APRA staff and APRA Board members? This unique opportunity is available for a young professional interested in creating opportunities for students and young professionals. The Young Professional Conference Chair is appointed to a two year term and is required to attend one meeting per month throughout the year.

Welcome to the NRPA Young Professional Network

This online network is intended to be a forum for discussion, sharing of knowledge, and posing of questions unique to the needs and interests of members under the age of 35 working in the park and recreation field or students currently pursuing a degree in parks, recreation, or other related fields.

The Young Professional online network through NRPA Connect is designed to be your forum for exchange of information and knowledge. Please use it freely and frequently, and invite other NRPA members who are part of the Young Professional online network to join in the discussions.

In celebration of our 50th Annual Conference, the National Recreation and Park Association invites teams of students to design the "park of the future" as part of positioning the association to continue to lead the national conversation on the role of public parks and recreation programs in promoting conservation, health & wellness, and social equity.   • ·         The NRPA scholarship and fellowship program enables recipients to attend NRPA’s Congress and Legislative Forum. The 2015 scholarships and fellowships information will be available soon. Bookmark this page and be on the lookout for additional information.  
  • ·         We’re making good progress on identifying at least one Young Professional in each state to help encourage young professional involvement. We are still looking for someone from the following states- AL, AR, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, ME, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX VT, VA, WI, WV.
