The Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) program is designed for pool operators and management staff in aquatic facility operation and management and is the most comprehensive and up-to-date training on operations, mechanical systems, water chemistry, disinfection, and safety.

Certification is achieved with a passing score of 78% on the 3-hour, open-book AFO Exam. AFO certification is valid for five (5) years. 



DEADLINE TO REGISTER DECEMBER

SAFETY GUIDELINES 

Candidates must comply with the safety protocols mandated by NRPA to sit for the course and exam. Non-compliance will result in dismissal and all paid fees will be forfeit, without refund.

  • Masks must be worn at all times
  • Temperature checks will be conducted upon entry each day
  • The Participant Health Liability Waiver must be signed each day
  • Candidates must remain 3' apart while seated, standing, or in motion

COURSE DETAILS (8:00AM - 5:00PM  WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY)

  • Course Materials (Course Manual & Field Guide) will ship to candidates 4-5 weeks prior to the start of the course
  • The Exam Outline will be mailed with the course materials and is a good guide for pre-reading and study. Pre-reading must be done to prepare for the course and exam
  • The course is pre-approved for 1.5 CEUs
  • Playground visit on Thursday (must provide own transport)
  • Snacks and lunches provided on Wednesday and Thursday - neither on Friday

  • 50 questions - 39 correct answers to pass at 78%

The option to take the CPSI exam via computer-based testing is available through the NRPA. To obtain additional information please visit www.nrpa.org/cpsi Please be advised if you register to take the examination with the course, you will not receive a refund to take your exam via computer based testing at a later date. Please decide now if you would like to take the exam on Day 3 of the course or via a computer-based exam at a later date.

Cancellation Policy:

No refunds will be processed after February 15, 2020 for the AFO course and exam. No shows and last minute cancellations are still responsible for full payment as APRA has guaranteed the number of participants with NRPA.

Registration transfers can be made in writing BEFORE March 6, after this date no changes can be made to the registration. If changes need to be made email admin@azpra.org. The Force Majeure Clause shall apply to all APRA event registrations.
