Steve Richardson is a native Arizonan who grew up in Mesa with a passion for the outdoors, sports, and travel. His recreation career began at age 15 as a youth sports referee and summer camp counselor. In 2004 he earned a degree in Parks & Recreation Management from Northern Arizona University…Go Jacks! With over two decades in the field, Steve has served in a variety of roles in different communities leading to his current position as Parks and Recreation Director for the Town of Payson. He is active with the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association, contributing in multiple capacities and currently on the nominating committee and awards committee hosting the annual awards banquet.
In his free time, Steve enjoys obstacle course racing with his wife, surfing, hunting, creating art, traveling, and cheering on his two teenage daughters in soccer.
