Phoenix Summit Challenge Routes

The PSC is a one-day event with the PHX7 (25 miles), the PHX5 (17 miles), the PHX4 (15.4 miles) and the All Access4 Challenge, happening on the same day with staggered starts. PLEASE NOTE: The Holbert trail cutoff time is 4:30 pm. The challenge is timed so that you can complete all 7 summits if you average at least a 23-minute mile.

Participants required to complete the summits in pre-determined order and at the designated starting times. Please refer to your passports for your category order. Participants are responsible for getting themselves to the trailheads; car-pooling is highly recommended. Event wristbands will be required to get into parking lots. PHX 7 - 5 AM Apache Wash Trailhead – Apache Vista Start
25 miles, 4,934 ft. elevation gain with an 11 hour time limit.
       

PHX 7 – 5 AM Piestewa Peak Start
25 miles, 4,934 ft. elevation gain with an 11 hour time limit.


PHX 7 – 5 AM Lookout Mountain Start
25 miles, 4,934 ft. elevation gain with an 11 hour time limit.



PHX 5 - 6 AM  Piestewa Peak Start
17 miles, 3,783  ft. elevation gain with a 10 hour time limit.


PHX 4 - 7 AM Lookout Mountain Start
15.4 miles, 3,543 ft. elevation gain with a 9 hour time limit.

4. Holbert Trail - South Mountain - must start trail by 4:30 pm

PHX All Access 4 - 8 AM Apache Wash  Start
10.2 miles, minimal elevation gain with a 9 hour time limit.
The All Abilities PHX4 challenge was designed for beginning hikers, families, participants who want to be part of the event but prefer hikes with less elevation gains, and those with limited mobility. You will be hiking different routes then the other categories.
